Exploring Indonesia’s Stunning Beaches: Kasap Beach, Pacitan’s Hidden Gem
Kasap Beach – Beaches continue to be a favorite destination for travelers in Indonesia. With around 17,504 islands, both large and small, the country is blessed with an abundance of coastal beauty. Indonesia boasts a coastline stretching over 81,290 kilometers, placing it second in the world for the longest coastline, just after Canada.
East Java’s Coastal Charm
As noted by the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) at Brawijaya University, East Java is home to eight coastal regencies along its southern border, which lies directly on the Indian Ocean. These regions share many common characteristics. Along East Java’s southern coastline, there are 142 coastal villages that form a protective line spanning 943.901 kilometers, one of which includes Pacitan.
From the City of 1001 Caves to Stunning Beaches
Pacitan, once famous as the “City of 1001 Caves,” is now also recognized for its stunning beaches. Among these is the breathtaking Kasap Beach, often referred to as the “Java version” of the renowned Raja Ampat in Papua due to its similar scenic beauty.
Kasap Beach: A Must-Visit for Beach Lovers
For travelers seeking a refreshing escape by the sea, Kasap Beach in Pacitan is a must-visit. Located in Watukarung Village, Ketro Hamlet, Prinkuku District, Pacitan, East Java, Kasap Beach is only about 25 kilometers from downtown Pacitan.
Easy Access to Natural Beauty
Reaching Kasap Beach is convenient, thanks to well-maintained roads. The beach is part of the same coastal cluster as Watukarung Beach. While Watukarung is a hotspot for surfers, Kasap Beach is best known for its stunning views of small islands. Visitors can enjoy these views at an affordable entrance fee of Rp. 7,000 per person. Parking costs Rp. 2,000 for motorcycles and Rp. 5,000 for cars. For a scenic photo opportunity with the island views, an additional fee of Rp. 5,000 per person is required.
A Walk to Paradise
From the parking area, visitors must walk along a footpath to reach Kasap Beach. Once there, they are rewarded with the chance to witness both breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. However, it’s important to note that Kasap Beach is located along the southern coast, which borders the Indian Ocean, and the beach is known for its large waves.
Kasap Beach offers the perfect blend of natural beauty, serene island views, and tranquility, making it a top destination for beach lovers in Indonesia.
