Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Surabaya to Banyuwangi

  • 09:00 AM: Pickup from Surabaya (airport, train station, or hotel)
  • Depart for Banyuwangi, where Ijen Crater is located. The journey will take approximately 8 hours, passing through villages and scenic countryside.
  • Arrive in Banyuwangi in the afternoon and check in to your hotel.
  • Spend the night in Banyuwangi and prepare for your early morning hike to Ijen Crater.

Day 2: Ijen Crater & Tumpak Sewu Waterfall Tour

  • 01:00 AM: Early pick-up from the hotel for the Ijen Crater Tour.
  • Drive to Paltuding Post and start your hike through jungles, coffee plantations, and clove plantations.
  • 02:30 AM: Begin the 1.5-hour trek to the Ijen Crater Rim (2,386 meters above sea level).
  • Witness the Blue Fire, an extraordinary natural phenomenon caused by burning sulfur.
  • After exploring the crater, return to your hotel in Banyuwangi for breakfast.
  • 09:00 AM: Check out and travel to Pronojiwo Village in Lumajang for the next leg of your journey.
  • Check into your hotel in Tumpak Sewu and relax for the night.

Day 3: Tumpak Sewu Waterfall & Transfer to Bromo

  • 07:00 AM: Enjoy breakfast and prepare to explore the famous Tumpak Sewu Waterfall.

Day 4: Mount Bromo Sunrise & Departure to Surabaya

  • 03:00 AM: Depart by Jeep to catch the sunrise at Viewpoint 1 on Mount Pananjakan.
  • 04:30 AM: Witness the stunning sunrise over Mount Bromo and Mount Semeru, Java’s highest peak.
  • After sunrise, head to the Sea of Sand, where you can trek or ride a horse (optional) to the rim of Bromo Crater.
